-Not that we can see.
-Might have been a robbery gone wrong.

Her bag is still here with her phone and her purse.
-Well, just as well that I'd arranged to meet her.
Or she could have been lying there for hours.
-Why were you meeting?
-Oh, she's helping me with something.
-Are you okay to come down to the station with me, Mr. Pettigrew, make a statement?
-Sure, sure.
-I didn't have Barry down as the type.
-Type of what?
-The sort of person who goes to see a faith healer.
[ Gulls cry ] ♪♪ ♪♪ -I smell bacon.
Hello?
-Just in time.
I'll put some extra sausage and bacon on.
Those kids look like they need feeding up.
-Not for me, Nanny.
-Don't tell me you're still a vegan!
-[ Laughs ] -When did you get here?

-Clint and his brother stole copper pipes from some holiday homes, to fund their country and western tour.

-Mum mostly performs fertility rituals to help women conceive, using Celtic massage techniques.

Mum uses energy to heal and comfort all sorts of people with all sorts of problems.
-Well, your mum seems like a very positive, altruistic sort of person.

-Can you think of any reason why someone would want to harm her?

Any progress with Bridget O'Carolan's attacker?

Bridget says she doesn't remember anything.

To say that Bridget has made a few enemies is an understatement.

-Clearly something they didn't want us to know about, as both of them neglected to mention it.

And what does he do?
He disgraces me.
Gets himself arrested in front of everyone.
How am I supposed to hold up my head up in this town?
-It doesn't matter what other people think.

She had a hysterectomy in 1998, years before Emmy was born.

♪♪ -What do we know of Emmy O'Carolan's movements this morning?
-Well, she dropped her mum off at the Fairy Ring first thing.
-And then she drove home.
-When Doreen showed up at her door with proof Bridget wasn't her real mum.

I mean, she's been lied to her whole life.

Um, I was scrolling through the photos on Bridget's website.
Every time she performs one of her ceremonies, there's a distinctive stone.
It's painted blue.
-Painted blue?
Like the paint found on Bridget's head wound?
-There were a load of those for sale outside the O'Carolan place.
-There was no sign of a blue stone at the crime scene this morning.
-Presumably the assailant took it with them, right?
-Yeah, but I was thinking there might be blue paint flecks or debris on their clothing.
♪♪ [ Distant siren ] ♪♪ -I just spoke to a nurse.
Bridget discharged herself against doctor's orders.
Emmy took her out to the car.
-What?
♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ -Bridget.
I didn't expect to see you out and about.
-Concepta.
When did you get back?
-You look terrible.
Why aren't you in hospital?
-Sorry, Mrs. O'Hare.
We're in a bit of a rush.

I've just seen Bridget and Emmy O'Carolan.
Something funny going on there.
[ Siren wails, tires screech ] -Look!

-Emmy, why did you take your mum out of hospital?
-I wanted to get her away, so she can rest and get better.

-Papa Delta One to Control... -Emmy O'Carolan, I'm arresting you on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
You do not have to say anything, but I must caution you, if you do not mention when questioned, something which you later rely on in court, it may harm your defense.

-Look, you're making a huge mistake.
♪♪ This is insane!
As if I'd attack my mum.
I love her.
-Emmy, we conducted a search on your house.
Located in the wash basket, we found a blouse, and on the sleeve of that blouse there were flecks of blue paint which are similar to the ones found around Bridget's head wound.
In the same area of that blouse, there were small spots of which we believe is blood.
We've sent it away for analysis.
-Tell me, Emmy, will this blood and paint come back as a positive match for Bridget's injury and for the stone?
-I'm sorry.
Yeah.
They will.
-Why don't you start by telling us what happened when Doreen came round to your house this morning?
-She had this printout.
Mum's medical records.
It said that Mum had had a hysterectomy a couple of years before I was born.
-That must have been hard to read.
-Look, I never meant to hurt my mum.
I would never, ever, but...
When I got back to the Fairy Ring, I confronted her.
You know, she was acting like all the lies meant nothing.
Like, gaslighting me.
Like, it drove me crazy.
It all happened so quickly.
She turned her back.
I grabbed the blue sacred stone and... before I could even think, I... -What did you do, Emmy?
-I struck her.
Across the head.
Next thing I know, she's just lying there... -And then?
-I panicked.
Ran.
I got in my car and I drove away.
-And what did you do with the stone?
-I hid it in the false boot of my car.
In the spare wheel.
If you're conducting searches, you'll find it soon enough.
-And then what did you do, Emmy?
-Look, I wanted to come clean, but when I saw Mum in the hospital, she begged me not to.
She didn't want me getting in trouble, and I didn't want her secret to come out.
It would ruin her.
♪♪ -This is all my fault.
When Emmy confronted me with the truth, I handled it so badly.
I never meant to lie.
But when I arrived in Port Devine with a baby in tow, people assumed she was mine.
I never corrected them.
The longer I left it, the harder it got.
-That's more than a bit disingenuous.
You not only let people believe you'd given birth to Emmy, you told them she was your miracle.
-Emmy is my miracle!
I'd tried to adopt a child for ages, years.
I was ready to give up, and then I decided to perform one last ceremony as the sun came up.
The moment I got home, the phone rang.
It was the adoption agency.
It was meant to be.
-But you say that you can help people conceive.
-Conceive i-in the wider sense.
Children come into your life in many different ways.
I believe, before we're born, it's our spirit who decides who will parent us.
Sometimes it's biological, sometimes it's not.
