He's very much been a part of Leonard's projects, the cafe, the halfway house.
He's been on hand to help.
- [Al] Daniel and Leonard, they're running the halfway house, and then there's a new guy called Sam who's offering faith in a different kind of direction than the church does.
- The first step is to forgive yourself.
- Thank you, Sam.
- This is a circle for sharing.
- [Elliot] He's got a new forward way of thinking, and he's gathering people to sort of try and bring on that way of thinking into the wider spectrum.
- A bit different to your congregation, is it?
Daniel, come take a seat.
What are you holding onto?
- Daniel is sort of beginning to drown a little bit.
He doesn't know where he is in life.
There's so much stuff that he really hasn't, he hasn't properly thought about.
- It's okay, go on.
- I have family that for many reasons I can't be with.
- This man seems to open him up emotionally in a way that Leonard's never been able to do.
- [Elliot] Sam is somebody who shows compassion, and he shows love, and it's not complicated by a belief in a supernatural being, as Daniel is an atheist, agnostic at best.
- Wonder if I should talk to him more.
- I didn't know you needed help.
- [Daniel] Neither did I.
- [Elliot] And for Daniel, it really starts to open up loads and loads of psychological doors for him.
- My mother and father, I hurt them.
- But you love them still.
- That kind of alienates Leonard a little bit and becomes more and more apparent and there's a kinda separation that sort of grows as happens in certain relationships as well.
They've just kind of started to drift apart a little bit, and this is where Sam gets in there and sees in Daniel someone from who he might benefit.
- He's investing in our work.
- Investing?
When were you going to tell me about this?
- It's my house Leonard, my choice.
After Daniel makes a big financial decision without Leonard's kind of knowledge and that kind of spurs Leonard on to confront Sam, and Sam kind of shows his true colors.
- I think we've reached the limit.
- I'll show you what my limit really is.
- He threatened me and he's got his hooks into Daniel.
I'm worried.
No forwarding address, nothing.
This is all wrong.
And where's Daniel?
Sam's a dangerous man.
