Twenty-two year old Aleta Lewis of Mount Carmel, Illinois enlisted in the Women's Army Corps in 1943 as one of tens of thousands of young women who joined the war effort in the fight against fascism. Lewis, who recently took part in an honor flight with other Illinois and Indiana veterans to visit the national World War Two Memorial in Washington, D.C., sat down with Kevin Boucher, WSIU Radio.
